Summary

• Large reduction in the Atlantic thermohaline circulation (THC) can induce global-scale changes in the Tropics.
• The tropical changes occurs both in Pacific and Atlantic, especially, the Pacific response is diminished when ocean model is replaced with slab ocean.
• Decreasing tropical SST trigger HC response and oceanic changes however the paper does not investigate how the SST anomaly occurs, on the other hand, how the extratropical impact make tropical changes itself.
